CHAPTER FOUR trailer and release information!

In the tradition of the critically acclaimed feature film AUTOMATONS comes MonsterPants latest retro science fiction project, CHAPTER FOUR.

The first episode in a proposed 10-part micro-budget web serial, CHAPTER FOUR stars musician, filmmaker, artist and author Aurelio Voltaire, actress Mizuo Peck (Night at the Museum 1 & 2), actor Matt Huffman (Satan Hates You) and artist and television personality The Sucklord (Bravo TV's "Work of Art: The Next Great Artist").

The project's writer and director is genre-bending DIY filmmaker James Felix McKenney (Hypothermia, Satan Hates You) who is co-producing the series with Lisa Wisely of The Work Room. Eric Branco (Hypothermia, V/H/S) is Director of Photography.

CHAPTER FOUR embraces its minuscule budget with a low-fi sci-fi style that takes its cues from a wide variety of influences including 1950's B-movies, early experimental films, Japanese underground cinema and 1960's "Doctor Who" episodes.

The film is intended to evoke the pre-internet and pre-home video experience of discovering a cult television series or film for the first time by just stumbling upon it in the middle of the story. Future episodes will be filmed and released out of order to keep the mystery alive and to cause audiences to ask not only, "What will happen next?" but also "How did we get here?"

The trailer for CHAPTER FOUR is now available at: monsterpants.net/chapterfour.html

CHAPTER FOUR itself has a running time of approximately 9.5 minutes and will arrive as a digital download at monsterpants.net on October 8. This first available episode costs $1.99 to own and all profits from the sale of CHAPTER FOUR will go toward making the next part in the series, CHAPTER SEVEN.

MonsterPants' CHAPTER FOUR begins filming this month!

James Felix McKenney's Ten-Part Serial to Premiere in Fall 2013.
Brooklyn, New York (June 4, 2013) - MonsterPants is proud to announce its latest film project, CHAPTER FOUR, the first episode in a ten-part online serial written and directed by DIY auteur James Felix McKenney (Automatons, Hypothermia).

For now, the name of the entire serial is to remain a mystery. Each episode of this dark science fiction thriller will carry its own title, simply that of the number of the chapter.

McKenney explains, "I want to capture that pre-internet, broadcast television feeling of discovery, where you would be flipping through television channels and stumble across a movie or a TV series in mid-story and get sucked in. During those times, you couldn't go back and see what you missed and it might take a little effort to even figure out the name of what you were watching. I loved that feeling of mystery and how it compelled you to seek out more information on your discovery, which wasn't always that readily available."

"To approximate that experience, we will be releasing our episodes out of order, without any title card displayed for the serial until the premiere of CHAPTER ONE, late in the series. I want there to be some mystery to this thing -- not just 'What will happen next?" but also 'How did we get here?'"

The first episode, CHAPTER FOUR, stars musician, filmmaker, artist and author Aurelio Voltaire, actress Mizuo Peck (Night at the Museum 1 & 2), actor Matt Huffman (Satan Hates You) and artist and television personality The Sucklord (Bravo TV's "Work of Art: The Next Great Artist").

McKenney is co-producing the series with Lisa Wisely of The Work Room. Eric Branco (Hypothermia, V/H/S) is Director of Photography.

Each episode will have a running time of approximately ten minutes and be distributed online beginning this fall. More information will be made available in the coming months on the MonsterPants website.

CHAPTER FOUR begins filming this month at the 94 Jewel Street Studio in Brooklyn, NY.

Project updates and more information to come at monsterpants.net and on Twitter @MonsterPantz .
