MonsterPants goes beyond movies and comics with handcrafted toys and apparel!

MONSTERPANTS: the New York-based, DIY non-studio that brought you such films as AUTOMATONS and SATAN HATES YOU is proud to announce its new line of handmade limited-run toys and apparel by writer / director / artist James Felix McKenney.

"I love toys as much as I do movies and comic books," says McKenney, a life long toy fan and collector. "They take up more room in my home than everything else I own. After all these years of collecting, I decided to try my hand at making some figures of my own."

The series of hand-made plastic resin figures are all designed, sculpted, cast, painted and packaged by McKenney.

"I'm not going to even attempt to recreate the polish of factory-made commercial or designer toys," he says. "These figures definitely have more of the handmade, DIY look and feel that the MonsterPants films have."

Leading off the first round of releases from MonsterPants Toys is your Robot Companion, a clunky, junky little droid built from scraps to save you from loneliness in a world gone mad. Standing at a mighty 3 3/4 inches, the Robot comes packaged on a hand-screened blister card. Only 66 Robot Companions will be made at a price of $24.00 USD each.

Next up is a considerably larger toy. Standing at approximately 6 1/2 inches tall is the MonsterPants figure, a new three-dimensional interpretation of the MonsterPants zipper skull logo that has appeared on a number of films, movie posters and merchandise since 2002. Made up of 11 individually cast parts and packaged in a clear plastic display box, the MonsterPants figure is limited to a run of 22 pieces selling for $66.00 USD each.

To celebrate the recent DVD release of the MonsterPants Movie SATAN HATES YOU, McKenney has crafted a DevilPants version of the MonsterPants figure. This version features a red, horned cousin to the Pants Monster, dressed in black and dark crimson. The DevilPants will also be limited to 22 figures and cost $66.00 USD each.

All toys are currently available for pre-order at the MonsterPants store and are schedule to ship in late-November 2011.

Topping it all off is a new line of T-shirts designed and hand screen printed by McKenney. Featuring Robots, DevilPants skulls and a number of other original designs, the first series of shirts are now available to ship with new varieties coming in November.

DVD), EST, DTO, PPV, VOD, DTR, Streaming, all other internet and digital rights, New Media, Ancillary) for writer-director James Felix McKenney and Glass Eye Pix's religious horror Satan Hates You. The title will be released in October 2011 in both territories on TLA’s Danger After Dark label.  

Dubbed “a clever collision of flamboyant gore and social commentary" by Variety, the over-the-top shocker follows Marc (Don Wood) a homicidal maniac driven by demons buried deep within his soul, and Wendy (Christine Spencer) a young girl who lives life fast and hard without a second's thought to the consequences. Their separate paths will eventually cross, but will it be on the road to salvation or the highway to hell?  

Written and directed by James Felix McKenney (Automations, Hypothermia) and produced by Lisa Wisely, Larry Fessenden, McKenney and Jeremiah Kipp, Satan Hates You features performances by a number of genre icons including Fessenden (Habit, I Sell The Dead), Angus Scrimm (Phantasm, Alias), Reggie Bannister (Bubba Ho-Tep) and Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, One Flew Over The Cukoo’s Nest).

Zombie author Max Brooks joins THE GIRL FROM MARS cast

Max Brooks, the bestselling author of "The Zombie Survival Guide" and "World War Z" will be appearing in the romantic science fiction film THE GIRL FROM MARS in a supporting role.

THE GIRL FROM MARS tells the story of a lonely nerd whose life is transformed when he meets the girl of his dreams who claims to be a visitor from another planet.

The film stars Pauley Perrette of the #1 CBS series NCIS and is written and directed by DIY auteur James Felix McKenney (AUTOMATONS). Lisa Wisely and Chase Tyler of The Work Room Productions are producing the project.

"I'm always excited to work with Jim!" says Mr. Brooks, who had a cameo as a news reporter in the director's Christploitation movie, SATAN HATES YOU. For THE GIRL FROM MARS, Brooks will be returning to the news desk, playing an anchorman in a series of television broadcasts which appear throughout the film.

Brooks' other acting credits include voice work on the animated series "Batman Beyond" and "Justice League". He has also written for "Saturday Night Live", for which he won an Emmy. His zombie books have sold over a million copies worldwide and are considered classics of the genre, whose influence can be seen in all facets of popular culture.

The author's wife, playwright Michelle Kholos Brooks, has also joined the cast, playing a co-worker to one of the story's main characters.

"I was hanging out with Michelle and Max after an American Cinemateque screening of SATAN HATES YOU in Los Angeles," explains McKenney, "Michelle and I were talking about the upcoming run of her show 'Love and Other Allergies' and she expressed an interest in maybe appearing in one of my films. I think that what she had in mind was a little non-speaking, walk-on part, but Michelle is really funny and extremely photogenic and I wasn't going to let all that talent go to waste."

Filming is scheduled to begin in May.

As a matter of fact, I'm willing to wager my soul that McKenney, if he ever does get tired of the low-budget grind, could churn out some of the best faith-based horror movies for reals—maybe a movie version of the famed Hell House attraction? Pauley Perrette, star of the CBS hit series 'NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service', will star in the upcoming sci-fi romance, THE GIRL FROM MARS, written and directed by James Felix McKenney and produced by The Work Room Productions.

SATAN HATES YOU to premiere at the Another Hole in the Head film festival July 10 & 13.

Please help us spread the word that writer-director James Felix McKenney's horror movie homage to the golden age of religious cinema, SATAN HATES YOU, is scheduled to make its world premiere at the Roxie Theatre at 3117 16th St in San Francisco, CA.

SATAN HATES YOU was inspired by classics of Christian cinema such as A THIEF IN THE NIGHT (1972) and IF FOOTMEN TIRE YOU, WHAT WILL HORSES DO? (1971). SATAN HATES YOU is a graphic horror movie film that tells the stories of two individuals and their personal struggles with Lucifer himself.

In the film, we follow Marc (Don Wood) a homicidal maniac driven by demons buried deep within his soul, and Wendy (Christine Spencer) a young girl who lives life fast and hard without a second's thought to the consequences. Their separate paths will eventually cross, but will it be on the road to salvation or the highway to hell?

Co-produced by Glass Eye Pix and MonsterPants Movies, SATAN HATES YOU features performances by a number of genre stars including Angus Scrimm (PHANTASM, TV's ALIAS), Reggie Bannister (PHANTASM, BUBBA HO-TEP), Michael Berryman (ONE FLEW OVER THE CUKOO'S NEST, THE HILLS HAVE EYES), Debbie Rochon (TROMEO AND JULIET, TERROR FIRMER) and Producer Larry Fessenden (HABIT, I SELL THE DEAD).

ANNOUNCING CHANNEL MIDNIGHT RELEASING
Channel Midnight to distribute Nathan Wrann's film BURNING INSIDE and James Felix McKenney's CANNIBALLISTIC!

Brooklyn, NY - Channel Midnight Releasing announces its arrival as a distributor of unique and unusual genre films beginning this spring with director Nathan Wrann's (HUNTING SEASON) dark and violent revenge thriller BURNING INSIDE, followed by a remastered version of James Felix McKenney's (AUTOMATONS, HYPOTHERMIA) debut feature CANNIBALLISTIC!

CHANNEL MIDNIGHT was founded by filmmaker James Felix McKenney (CANNIBALLISTIC!, HYPOTHERMIA) and producers Lisa Wisely (AUTOMATONS, SATAN HATES YOU) and Chase Tyler of The Work Room Productions as a means to distribute select titles from McKenney's filmography. Along the way they have come across impressive works by other talented filmmakers that screamed to be seen by their target audience.
"We started out forming the company simply to distribute a new "prime cut" of my first film CANNIBALLISTIC! and some upcoming projects that I've been developing. But when I saw Nathan's film BURNING INSIDE, I fell in love with it and knew we had to be a part of getting it out there." says McKenney.

BURNING INSIDE is an intense, surreal and violent exploration of the entangled nature of revenge and memory from Nathan Wrann, Dalton Gang Productions and Elmar Berger's Manic Entertainment. The film stars Michael Wrann and Kristina Powis.

Fear Zone's Greg Lamberson had this to say about BURNING INSIDE: "There is an awareness of filmmaking as a storytelling medium at work here that you will not find in a multiplex... A wholly original and daring piece of cinema. It's rare that acting, cinematography and editing work in such perfect harmony to create something this unique... Highly recommended to lovers of smart films."

CANNIBALLISTIC! is the first of five (to date) features from writer-director McKenney. This black comedy / horror film stars Don Wood (COLONIAL HOUSE, HYPOTHERMIA) as a recovering cannibal driven over the edge by his annoying neighbors. Shock Cinema magazine said about the movie during its original release: "CANNIBALLISTIC is a wickedly subversive tale packed with blood-soaked laughs and amusing characters." Rue Morgue Magazine declared, "Fine performances, strong direction, effective music and a smart, tongue-in-cheek script make CANNIBALLISTIC! a no-budget winner... check it out."

ABOUT THE CHANNEL MIDNIGHT STAFF:

LISA WISELY and CHASE TYLER produce film and theater under their company The Work Room Productions. Lisa is the Producer of the critically acclaimed feature film AUTOMATONS and the upcoming SATAN HATES YOU. She has worked as a Business Manager for several film companies and heads up the operations at Channel Midnight. Chase Tyler is a producer currently working on a new theatrical production called The Ride, a mobile entertainment experience in Times Square. In addition to their producing work which includes several film and theater projects in development, Lisa and Chase own a costume design company under the name Chase Tyler Design as well as Green Room Promotions, a merchandising company with a commitment to sourcing environmentally-friendly productions.

JAMES FELIX MCKENNEY's first feature film was the horror / black comedy CANNIBALLISTIC!, which was co-produced by his company MonsterPants. He has served as a producer on Glass Eye Pix's ScareFlix film series which includes THE ROOST and TRIGGER MAN. McKenney is responsible for writing and directing the first film in the line, the quirky supernatural drama THE OFF SEASON, which premiered on Lionsgate home video as the #1 debut DVD renter in North America. This was followed up by the critically acclaimed, retro-styled, killer robot film AUTOMATONS, which played festivals around the world as well as extended theatrical runs in New York and Chicago. MICHAEL ROOKER TO HEADLINE HYPOTHERMIA FROM MPI's DARK SKY FILMS

One of the First Feature Films to be Lensed in 4K

Chicago, IL - Dark Sky Films is pleased to announce this week marks the first week of principal photography and production on James Felix McKenney’s feature HYPOTHERMIA.

HYPOTHERMIA, written and directed by McKenney, stars Michael Rooker, who has had a long career in film that launched with his chilling performance as the titular character in HENRY: THE PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER. HYPOTHERMIA co-stars Blanche Baker who starred in SIXTEEN CANDLES, HBO’s TAKING CHANCE and the horror indie THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. Also in the cast are Greg Finley (THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER), and McKenney regulars Don Wood (THE OFF SEASON, AUTOMATONS, SATAN HATES YOU), Ben Forster and Amy Chang. The film will be produced in association with Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix.

The story takes place in Maine in the dead of winter. Ray Pelletier and his wife Helen have been ice fishing the frozen expanse of Lake Noyade for over two decades but this year something is different: no fish bite. Is it their new neighbors on the ice -- Stevie Jr. and his overbearing Dad -- with their high-tech gear and over-sized rig that is driving the fish away? Or is it something else? The answer comes in an onslaught of ferocious attacks that unites the two families against a mysterious creature from under the ice.

Producers on the film are 2010 Spirit Award nominee and horror director Larry Fessenden and his partners Peter Phok and Brent Kunkle, along with Dark Sky Films producer Derek Curl (THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, HATCHET 2). The Co-Producer is Jacob Jaffke (THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, Bafta nominated short OFF SEASON).

The film is produced in association with Offhollywood Pictures, which brings up-to-the minute technical innovation to the production. HYPOTHERMIA is one of the first feature films to be lensed in 4K on RED ONE digital cinema cameras updated with the new, high-dynamic range Mysterium-X sensor alongside David Fincher 's SOCIAL NETWORK and Steven Soderbergh's KNOCKOUT.

Says Fessenden: “It is very gratifying to have the support of such a cool company as Dark Sky so we can keep making these auteur-driven genre films we call Scareflix. Having Michael Rooker headline the cast in a role like this is especially exciting because it is a different side of Rooker we’ll be exploring. I know the fans will be gratified to spend some real screen time with him in this rugged and sympathetic role.”

The monster has been created by effects veteran Chris Bridges who has lent his talents to such films as DIARY OF THE DEAD, 300, SILENT HILL, SAW III and MAX PAYNE. since his on-set debut on MIMIC. Stunt and movement artist Asa Liebmann will be inside the suit. Gore effects will be handled by Brian Spears (PLAGUETOWN, I SELL THE DEAD, BITTER FEAST, STAKE LAND).
